Musette du Cour

Bonnie Prince Charlie's

This rather neglected example of the Musette du Cour languishes in the West Highland Museum in town of Fort William in Scotland. The instrument's provenance and silver plaque on the Tete states that it was owned by Bonnie Prince Charlie. It appears to be quite "battle weary" !

The plaque on the front of the Tete reads

"Charles Edward Stuart, last PRINCE of the Royal House of Stuart"

It is of slightly different construction to the usual pattern. Note the thumb screws to further secure the 2 chanters which may be of later addition.
