Union Pipes : Egan monsters !

These are some of the most complex sets of Union (Uilleann) pipes that I have seen.

Left:

One of the more well known examples - this set can be found in the Fraser Collection, Royal Scottish Museum, Edinburgh, Scotland.

As is often traditional with museums the instrument has been misassembled with the sliding joint of the middle drone being added to the baritone regulator.

The set below is a composite with some parts parts by Colgan (Main Stock) and A.N.Other

A set based on these two instruments has been recently been commissioned - as it involves a wide range of techniques construction can be followed by going to "Egan Bb" in the "Making Section"
