The World of Bagpipes : Fingering Charts

Great Highland & Biniou Bras

The following chart is taken from a Breton Book for the Biniou Bras which is in reality the Great Highland Bagpipe. It will depend upon chanter as to how well the additional semitones work.

An original chanter by Dorig Le Voyer in my collection plays both the conventional pipe scale and the additional semitones very well.

Scottish bagpipe music omits the key signature and classifies the C# and F# as C and F. On modern arrangements where a c natural is required then this is classified as a "flat" C.
